An unlikely beginning.........
I am a first - generation auctioneer, meaning I didn’t grow up in the business.
I quit college at 20 to start a business that became a 3-time INC 500 company and sold it in the late 90's.
I moved to Montana to “find myself” and went to work for an auction company.
18 months later, I moved back to Alabama and started Redfield Group Auctions. I have sold properties in over 40 states and internationally and until about 7 years ago, I never really worked with real estate agents on listings because we just never understood each others businesses.
That all changed when an agent called me with a “deal”.
I would like to tell you that this “deal” turned into BIG commissions for both of us....it didn’t. The seller was less than honest, and it didn’t turn out like it should have. The next call from that agent was to help with a VERY good client that had a property worth less than $10,000 in the middle of nowhere. We helped and he started understanding how our system worked and how he could use it in the future. The next call was from a listing appointment on a multi-million-dollar property. 15 minutes into the appointment, he knew he couldn’t fulfill the sellers in the required timeframe, so he called from the client’s den and handed the phone to his prospect. I spoke with him for 20 minutes and was sitting in his den within 24 hours. We had the property listed for auction within 5 days and 45 days later sold the property for over $3 million and everyone walked away very happy (and the agent earned over $150,000).
This would have been a deal that most people would have walked away from or listed only to become a problem. Maybe they would have called a few investors and got a low cash offer (which wouldn’t have worked because of the debt on the property). Because this top producing broker understood our system, he saw it was a perfect partnership.
I can tell you endless stories about agents with problem listings because we have all had them.

Do I keep my client?
Yes. You keep your listing with the client and we do an auction agreement in addition.
You will also receive all of the buyer leads generated by the auction. We have spent years building relationship capital and long term partners and are a trusted source for many top producing agents.
How do I qualify a client for an auction?
You don’t have to because that is where we come in.
We would work along side you and handle all of the auction sales and details. We sell over 90% of the properties we take to auction because we qualify all of them in the beginning.
You can be comfortable that we won’t risk our name or your’s just to do an auction.
